Mrs. Charlotte Rae Smith, 78, of Jane, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday morning, September 13, 2014, at The Maples at Har-Ber Meadows in Springdale, Arkansas, after months of declining health.

Charlotte entered this life on October 29, 1935, in Garden Plain, Kansas, the only daughter born to the late Everett and Grace (Smith) McClure. She was raised and graduated high school in Goddard, Kansas. On June 7, 1953, she was united in marriage to James Leroy "Jim" Smith and to this union three daughters and two sons were born. She and Jim moved their family to Jane, Missouri, in 1968. Besides being a devoted homemaker she also worked for twenty years at Cobb Vantress in Jane, Missouri. She enjoyed embroidery projects, flower gardening and being outdoors. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Jim Smith on July 28, 1997.

Charlotte is survived by three daughters, Patty Ingram and husband, Michael, of Rogers, Arkansas, Charlene Lyon of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Pam Blount and husband, Donnie, of Rogers, Arkansas; two sons, Rob Smith and wife, Terry, of the state of Texas and James Smith of Nowata, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert McClure of Peotone, Illinois and Jim McClure of Mountain Home, Idaho; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Smith are 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014, at the Jane Cemetery in Jane, Missouri, with Bro. Hank Gorman officiating.
