Wilmer Loren Bray, 80, of Pierce City, Mo., died suddenly on Monday, April 9, 2007, in his home near Pierce City, Mo. Mr. Bray was born in Billings, Mo., on September 23, 1926, a son of Joe and Elnor (Hendricks) Bray. Mr. Bray graduated from Republic High School in 1944. On October 14, 1947, he married Arleen Cox who preceded him in death on April 17, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his brother Junior in 1942. Mr. Bray was a cattle farmer for many years and was a veteran of World War II be serving in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of the following: First Presbyterian Church of Monett; Abou Ben Adhem Shrine in Springfield; the Decatur Lodge #400 in Pierce City, where he served as chaplain; the Valley of Joplin Scottish Rite in Joplin; and Hobbs Anderson Post 91 of the American Legion in Monett, where he was a flag folder for many veterans' funeral services. Mr. Bray was a 20 gallon blood donor with the American Red Cross, saving many lives in his lifetime. Mr. Bray and his antique John Deere tractor were well-known in many local parades.
