Fred Hager, 91, Strafford, died at 11:38 p.m. Sunday in Cox Medical Center North, Springfield, after a long illness.A retired self-em­ployed well driller with Hager Well Drill­ing, Mr. Hager was a Veteran of World War I and a member of Strafford First As­sembly of God Church. Survivors in­clude his wife, Marybell; a daughter, Beatrice V. Grunlien, Strafford; a son, Charles L. Hager,Springfield; two sisters, Maude Swearengin,Springfield, and Flossie Chandler, Tulsa, Okla.; six grand­ children; seven great­ grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Ra-gan-Thieme Funeral Home North Chapel, 1200 Boonville, Spring­field, with Rev. V.H. Shumway and Dr. J. Calvin Holsinger offi­ciating. Burial will be in Springfield Nation­al Cemetery. Memorial contribu­tions may be made to Strafford First As­sembly of God Build­ing Fund

Mary-belle "Belle" Hager, 89, Stratford, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Monday in her home following a long ill­ness. Marybelle "Belle" Cannaday was born May 26, 1903, in Springfield, Mo., the daughter of John and Mary Ellen Bridges Cannaday. Marybelle was united in marriage on July 3, 1917, to Fred Hager, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was a lifelong resident of the Springfield and Strafford areas. She with her hus­band, owned and operat­ed Hager's Restaurants and Grocery Stores in both Springfield and Strafford. Belle was a member of First Assem­bly of God Church in Strafford.
