Raymond A. Monette, 91, of Crane, formerly of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2008, in a nursing home in Crane. He was born February 25, 1917, in Pittsfield, Mass., to Theodore and Elsie (Schinverot) Monette, and attended Catholic schools. He was a veteran, retiring after 31 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was active in VFW Post 3404. In 1946, he married Frances G. White, and she preceded him in death in 1990. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister Irene; and brother Ted. Services will be Friday, August 22, at 10 a.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with interment and military rites following in Springfield National Cemetery.
