Norvel Clinton Curry, age 23, of Holland, was killed Monday when the truck he was driving was sideswiped by a car. The accident occurred near Jericho, Ark., on Highway 61. According to witnesses, both vehicles were southbound, and the accident occurred when a car driven by Melvin Dent, 29, of Marion, Arkansas, sideswiped the soybean-laden truck while trying to pass. Curry's wife, Charlotte, and 3 year old son, Clinton, who were riding with him, were unhurt. He was driving a truck owned by the Joe Cohoon Gin of Holland.
State Trooper W.E. Hilliard of West Memphis arrested Dent, and a preliminary hearing was to be held at Marion at 2 p.m. Friday.
