Services were held at the Dean Funeral Home Chapel Saturday afternoon for Chester D. Higdon, 87, who died at his home in Holland Friday, July 24. Mr. Gerald Cowan officiated and burial was in Lester Cemetery near Holland.
Mr. Higdon was born March 15, 1883 at Freesport, Ind. but had lived most of his adult life in the Holland area. He was a retired farmer.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nettie Higdon of the home; a son, James Higdon; two brothers Harry Higdon of Hayti and Cuba Higdon of Cooter and a sister, Mrs.. Marie Kellum of Steele.

Mrs. Nettie Higdon, 101, died Jan. 23, 1994 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett. Born Dec. 15, 1892 at Denton, she was the daughter of Hugh and Celia Denton Duncan. She was the widow of Chester Higdon and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by three grandsons, Joe Max Curry of Campbell, Clinton Curry of Steele and Anthony Norrid of Holland; And eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services were Jan. 25 at John W. German Funeral Home chapel in Steele, the Rev. John E. Dunavant officiating, with burial in Lester Cemetery near Denton.
