William Amos Hatley died at the Blytheville Hospital, Blytheville, Arkansas, Wednesday, October 10, 1951. He was 66 years, 6 months, and 29 days of age at the time of his death. A retired farmer, Mr. Hatley had made his home in this section for the past 26 years. He was born in Holladay, Tenn.
Funeral services were held at the German Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, October 11, 1951, at 2 p.m., conducted by Bro. Marvin Rainey. Interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Pallbearers were Leslie Barron, Bill George, Clay Lamb, Beaumont Smith and Junior Templeton.
Mr. Hatley leaves his wife, Mrs. Era Hatley of Steele; four sons, Garvin of Blytheville, Marvin of Steele, Gordon of Steele, and Lesley of St. Louis; one daughter, Lucille of Steele; three grandchildren; eight brothers, Alvin of Memphis, Abner of Blytheville, Aaron of Blytheville, Martin of Steele, Marion of Heth, Arkansas, Jim of Wardell, Ed of Wardell, and Rayburn of Holland.

Mrs. Era Hatley, 77, died December 4, 1971 at the Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville.
She was born January 18, 1894 at Holiday, Tenn. and was the daughter of the late Griffin and Martha Haynes.
Her husband, Amos Hatley, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held December 7, 1971 at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. James F. McCrary officiating.
She leaves three sons: Garvin Hatley, Blytheville; Jack Hatley and Doc Hatley, Steele; one daughter: Lucille McCord, Holland; and 11 grandchildren.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
