Funeral services were held here at 2:30 Monday afternoon at the Methodist church with the Rev. Marvin Niblack and Rev. J.E. Hall officiating, for John Wilson Campbell, who passed away at his home here Saturday afternoon after an illness of several months, at the age of 74. He was born September 24, 1881.
He had lived here most of his life, was a landowner, a member of the Methodist church and a good citizen, husband and father.
Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery under direction of German Funeral Home.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Emma Funderburk Campbell, one son, Velmer Campbell, one daughter, Mrs. Rowena Lynn, and five grandsons, all of Cooter, a sister, Mrs. Ada Hopkins of California and a niece and nephew of West Plains, Mo.
Coming here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Campbell of Columbia, Mr. and Mrs. William Campbell of West Plains, Mr. and Mrs. Gaston Brown of Risco, Mr. and Mrs. Victory Mallory of Blytheville and several others.

Mrs. Emma Campbell, 74, of Cooter, died Wednesday night, December 30, at Chickasawba Hospital in Blytheville after a short illness. The daughter of the late Virg and Rosie Funderburk, she had spent nearly her entire life in Cooter and was a member of the Methodist Church there. Her husband, John W. Campbell died in 1956.
Services were held at the Cooter Methodist Church Friday afternoon with the Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
She leaves a son, Velmer Campbell and daughter, Mrs. Rowena Lynn, both of Cooter; three brothers, Dallas Funderburk of Modesta, Calif., Virgil Funderburk of Cooter and Elmer Funderburk of Steele; four sisters, Mrs. Ethel Castman of Cooter, Mrs. Lula Crawford of Micola, Mrs. Mayme Stone of Steele and Mrs. Della Hinson of Greenville, Miss.; five grandsons, two great-grandsons and two great-great-granddaughters.
