Funeral services for Johnathan Ellis Hoskins were conducted at 10:30 a.m. December 24, 1948 at the Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Niblack officiating. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery with the German Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Hoskins passed away at his home near Steele December 22, 1948 after a short illness. He was 72 and a veteran of the Spanish-American War. He had lived in this community 31 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Hoskins; two sons: Walter and Charlie Hoskins; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Whitener, all of near Steele; one brother, Joseph Hoskins of Leesburg, Ohio; and one sister, Miss Carrie Hoskins of Oregon.
