W. O. Powers, aged 72 years, 2 months and 14 days, died at his home two miles west of Highlandville about 8:30 Wednesday morning, April 4, 1923. T. B. Chaffin of Ozark was called to prepare the body for burial.

Funeral services, conducted by J. L. White of Highlandville, was held Thursday afternoon at the Highlandville cemetery.

Deceased leaves the widow, one son, Will Powers of Ozark and two daughters, one residing in Oklahoma and one in the state of Washington.


Belinda Susan Powers was born April 11, 1850 and departed this life, Nov. 14, 1932, at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 3 days.

She was married to W.O. Powers and to this union were born six children, Mrs. Katie Rice of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma; Mrs. Dora Gilmore of Chewelah, WA; and Mr. J.W. Powers of the home address, surviving; and two brothers, Ward DeBoie of Yerka, CA; and Lu DeBoie of Highlandville,MO.

She was united with the Baptist church when young and lived a Christian life. She was a kind and loving mother and is sadly missed by her many friends and loved ones.

Funeral services were conducted at the residence, two miles northwest of Highlandville by Rev. Park at 1 p.m., Nov. 15, with burial in the Highlandville Cemetery under the direction of T.B. Chaffin.
