John was the 3rd of seven children born to Dr. Henry Fenton Steinhauer and Jemima Sappington. His siblings: John James (died young), Emma, Sarah Wells (died young), Mary Agnes (died young) Fanny M. (died young) and Mary.
The stone is in the center of the cemetery and John's inscription is on the south side.
