Mrs. Serena Hesselrode who has been in ill health for several months died suddenly at her home at noon yesterday, June 28. She was 59.
Mrs. Hesselrode moved to Steele in 1927. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was very active in Church activities. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services are incomplete pending the arrival of relatives. German Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Hesselrode, three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Lawrence and Mrs. Julette Smith of Steele and Mrs. Evelyn Sloan of Carthage, Tennessee; two step sons, W.E. Hesselrode of Cape Girardeau and Robert Hesselrode of East Prairie, Missouri; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ezara Vaughn of Eloy, Arizona and Mrs. Mattie Sharp of Monroe, La.
