Ruth Hazel Ray, 76, daughter of John Hall and Clara Alderson Hall, was born Aug. 6, 1925, in the Grogan community. She died Aug. 18, 2001, at the Willow Care Nursing Home at Willow Springs.
She married Jessie Ray Dec. 3, 1943. They had three children.
Mrs. Ray was a church song leader and Sunday School teacher as long as her health permitted. At the time of her death, she was a member of the New Hope Friendship Bible Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; and one brother, Elmer Hall.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Emery of Willow Springs and Bonnie Coatney of Jefferson City; one son, Keith Ray; two brothers, Charles Hall of Mountain View and Don Hall of Fulton, Ill.; a special aunt, Goldie Aldridge of Willow Springs; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children and three great-great-grand-children.
Services were Aug. 21 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Jackson officiating. Burial was in the Near Home Cemetery. [Houston Herald Online]
