Phebe Lorene Beltz, 78, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at her home in Willow Springs.
She was born May 16, 1930, in Bendavis, daughter of Lawrence Gardner and Lydia Mabel McCall Tate. She and George Wendell Beltz were married June 6, 1948, in the home of the Rev. F.J. Light in Mountain Grove.
She graduated from Mountain Grove High School in 1948 and was a member of Oak Lawn Church of God. She was a homemaker and farm wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Iva Mabel Welch, Mary Elisabeth Gockley and Alta Lydia Noblett; and four brothers, Allen Francis Tate, Noah Tate, James Daniel Tate and Jesse Amos Tate.
Survivors include her husband; six children, Georgia Williamson and Joe Beltz of Mountain View, Robert Beltz of Willow Springs, Rebecca Frisbee of Holmen, Wisc., and Sharon Turner and Connie Adkerson of West Plains; two sisters, Esther Bressler of Mesa, Ariz., and Leah Felker of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many friends, neighbors, and relatives.
Services were Friday, Dec. 12, at Yarber Mortuary Chapel in Mountain View with the Rev. Mike Cochran and Henry Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Clear Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Howell County Relay for Life or Texas County Hospice of Care.
