Minnie J. Glasscock, formerly of Willow Springs, quietly passed away Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, from natural causes while at The Maples Health & Rehabilitation in Springfield. Born March 27, 1925, to Thomas W. and Mable (Bostick) Jones, she was 85 years old.
Minnie was born and raised in Bokoshe, OK, and attended the local schools. On March 3, 1944, she was married to Herman Otis Glasscock in Tulsa, OK. To this union, eight children were born. In 1965, Minnie and her family moved here to Willow Springs and remained until 1995, at which time they moved to Fordland for the next five years. In 2000, Minnie moved to Mountain View, AR, to be close to her family. She remained there for the next three years until finally moving to Springfield. Minnie had many enjoyments in her life, such as needlepoint, sewing, quilting, gardening and working in her flowerbeds. However, she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, Donald Eugene Glasscock, Leland Roscoe Glasscock, Troy Lee Glasscock, and Roy Dee Glasscock; her husband, Herman Otis Glasscock; her brother, Cecil McBride; and by her sisters, Climmie Mannasco and Gracie May Whitlock.
Minnie is survived by her children, Auda Vianna Martin and her husband Eugene of Pine Grove, AR; Thomas Franklin Glasscock and his wife Dale of West Pelzer, SC; Cecil Ray Glasscock and his wife Carol of Springfield; and Cathy Collins of Rogersville. She is further survived by her brother William (Bill) M. Jones and his wife Shirley of Willow Springs; and 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
