Ruah Opal Clover, 89, daughter of George and Lucy Martin Stewart, was born March 6, 1916, at Raymondville. She died Nov. 16, 2005, after suffering a massive stroke Oct. 18 and being flown to St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
She married John Clover Oct. 31, 1936, at Houston. They made their home in the Raymondville area and had nine children.
Mrs. Clover attended the Wildwood Church, where she gave her heart to the Lord in 1954 and was baptized.
She like raising a garden, reading and cooking. She loved family get-togethers.
After the death of her husband, she moved to Kansas City, where most of her children lived. She attended Belton Assembly for 20 years.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, three sisters; three sons, Jerry, Don and and Jim; and two daughters, Ruby and Barb.
Surviving are three daughters, Jane Hill of Licking, Louise McColgin of Raymondville and Joann Ring of Belton; one son, Johnny of Ash Grove; 19 grandchildren 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services were Nov. 21 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with David Meade officiating. Burial was in the Friendship Cemetery.

John D. Clover, 57, a lifelong Raymondville resident, died Sunday afternoon at his home, after a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife, Opal, of the home; two sons, Jim of Kansas City, and Johnnie Dale, of the home; and five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Hill, Raymondville, Mrs. Jane Hill, and Mrs. Barbara McConnaughhay, both of Kansas City Mrs. Louise McColgin, Valley Park, and Joan Clover, of the home. Also surviving are a brother, Ervin Clover, and two sisters, Mrs, Maggie Hill and Mrs. Ads Cooper, all of Raymondville. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in Friendship Church near Raymondville, Mrs. Sadie Miles and the Rev. Curtis Yarnell officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Barber-Davis
