Betty Jean Guyott Cooper, 73, was born November 21, 1934 in Patton, Missouri to Lester Louis Guyott and Eula Pearl Yount Guyott. She passed away on May 23, 2008 at Mtn. View Healthcare in Mtn. View, Missouri.
Betty grew up in the Fredricktown/Perryville, Missouri area and graduated from St Vincent High School.
She then moved to St Louis and worked at Remington Rand in their microfilm division.
Years later she worked at Cooper's Farm Supply in Summersville. She was active in her community, serving on the Date Township Board as Treasurer for many years.
Betty owned and operated her own Tax preparation/ Bookkeeping business and a Seasonal Greenhouse from which she supplied bedding plants to many people in surrounding areas.
In what spare time she had, she enjoyed working in her own yard and garden, fishing, reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching old movies.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert L. Guyott, and infant son, Cody.
Surviving are her husband, Homer, of the home in Arroll, MO; sister Ann Sullivan of Bunker, MO; children, Pat Hamilton of St. Peters, MO; Kim Tune of Houston, MO; Ric Schulte and wife, Tami, of Summersville, MO; Carla Cooper of Conroe, TX; Troy Cooper and wife, Lupe, of Humble, TX; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She will be mourned by many other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Bradford Funeral Chapel in Summersville, MO on May 27, 2008 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Emmett Bradford and Calvin Cooper officiating. Interment was in Midvale Cemetery with Father Earnest Marquart officiating under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
Homer George Cooper, the son of George W. Cooper and Minnie Spencer Cooper, was born August 5, 1929 at Summersville, Missouri and passed away at his home Friday, January 29, 2010, making his age 80 years and 5 months.
Homer was united in marriage to Betty Jean Guyott. He served in the Summersville V.F.W. as President. He also served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1956; serving in the Korean War Conflict with the rank of Corporal.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his siblings, Maudie, Eli, Thelma, Edith, Elmer, Henry, Goldie, Annie, Bonnie, and Roy.
He is survived by his sister, Pauline, his children and grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Midvale Cemetery with Rev. Gary Steelman officiating with full Military honors. Arrangements were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
