Thelma Jewel Harmon, 90, daughter of John Adam and Martha Louise White Brewer, was born April 7, 1917, at Stultz. She died May 22, 2007, at the Kabul Nursing Home.
She married Phillip Lee Harmon Oct. 3, 1936, at Olathe, Kan They moved to the Nagle community in 1940.
Mrs. Harmon retired from Rawlings Sporting Goods, where she worked for many years. She spent many years in the Tyrone community, where she and her husband farmed.
She was well known in the community for her ability to cook, bake and care for others. She was a member of the Nagle Christian Church, where she served as secretary for many years. She moved to Cabool in the '80s, where she was a member of the Cabool General Baptist Church until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two brothers, Fred and Frank; seven sisters, Grace, Bessie, Annis, Margie, Clara, Ada and Ruby; and three stepsons, John, Francis and Gene Harmon.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Mary Alice Smith of Houston; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-and great-great-grandchildren.
Services were May 26 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Williamson officiating. Burial was in the Nagle Cemetery.
