Wife of Walter Beard

Ollie Mae Blankenship Beard, 94, daughter of George and Laura Blankenship, was born Nov. 15, 1912, at Solo. She died March 9, 2007, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
She marred Walter Thornton Beard Nov. 8, 1930. They had three children.
Mrs. Beard spent most of her life in Missouri, moving to Washington in 1965. She returned to Missouri in 1983.
She worked at the Solo and Raymondville post offices, International Shoe Factory until it closed and Bayly Corp. in Yakima, Wash., until she retired.
Mrs. Beard was a seamstress and loved quilting and crocheting and making quilts and blankets for family, friends and the community.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Everett, Charles Elmer, Dillard, Archie Burton, Albert Henry and Clyde James; one sister, Ethel Mae and two stillborn infants; her husband and a son, James Walter Beard.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann Jeanette White of Kilgore, Texas, and Genevieve Wilson of Houston; a sister, Eva Irene Walcott of Houston; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Services were March 13 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Howell Burkhead officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
