Larry D. Brown, 59, son of Orville and Ruth Hensley Brown, was born June 12, 1946. He died Sept. 12, 2005, near Solo.
After graduation from Houston High School in 1964, he served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1968 to January 1971.
When he returned from the service, he was in partnership on the farm and in trucking and lived at Elk Creek.
He was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing and hunting, especially with his nephew, John.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ruth Darlene Wheeler; and brother, Ronald Brown.
Surviving are a brother, Orville Brown Jr.; sister, Laverne Fitch of Winterset, IA; and nieces and nephews.
Services were Sept. 16 at the New Hope Baptist Church at Solo with the Rev. Norman Orr officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool. [Houston Herald]
