April 17, 1969 Houston, MO "Houston Herald" - Mrs. Jennie Cunningham - Jennie Thornhill Cunningham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thornhill, was born near Simmons, Mo., Dec. 19, 1887, and died April 17, 1969 at the Kabul Nursing Home, Cabool, making her age at the time of her death 81 years, 3 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Franklin Cunningham Dec. 20, 1905, and to this union four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1932, and one daughter, Oveta Pearl. She is survived by two daughters, Opal Zeck of Long Beach, Calif., and Gladys McNew of Houston; and one son, Jack Cunningham of the home at Solo. Besides her children, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Welker of Centralia, Wash. and Mrs. Peal Evans of Carthage, Mo.; 24 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Houston and was a member of the Rebecca and Eastern Star Lodges of Houston. Funeral services were held Sunday, at the New Hope Baptist Church at Solo, the Rev. Don Breazlie officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Evans-Elliott.
