Ima Murrel Lilly Ferguson, 94, daughter of Walter Scott Lilly and Olia West Lilly, was born Oct. 8, 1908, at Solo. She died Oct. 11, 2002, at Willow Care Nursing Center at Willow Springs.
She was a 1928 Houston High School graduate and except for a few years working in St. Louis, was a life-long resident of Texas County. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Houston, a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and a 70-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, obtaining the level of worthy matron in 1942.
She was a prominent Texas County businesswoman and developer and was responsible for the development of the Lillyview Subdivision in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, S.E. "Si" Ferguson; two brothers, Ray D. and Ralph S. Lilly; and three sisters, Matoe Gibson, Maggie White and Naomi Smith.
Surviving are three stepchildren, Charles Ferguson of Carthage, Ill., and Marilyn Mitchell and Charlotte Sutton of Houston.
Services were Oct. 22 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace and Charles Ferguson officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
