Elmer Jessie Goodman, 82, son of Jesse and Nancy Goodman, was bora July 27, 1924, at Tyrone. He died Dec. 9, 2006, at his home at Houston.
Mr. Goodman worked for the City of Houston, retiring after 26 years.
He married Waneta Elmore Armstrong Feb. 18, 1967.
Mr. Goodman loved going to auctions, playing horseshoes, gardening and family dinners and visiting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray and Paul Goodman; and a sister, Sylvia Herndon.
Surviving are his wife of the home in Houston; three stepchildren, Luie Armstrong of Neosho, Lois Carter
of Houston and Reva Goodman of Neosho; four sisters, Goldie Hurley and Doris Goforth of Houston,Dorothy Glenn of Elk Creek and Lucille Christensen of Cabool; six
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 12 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Don Carter officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the New Hope Cemetery.
