Treva May (Crawford) West age 84, the baby daughter of John Martin and Mamie (Hogan) Crawford peacefully passed over to the other side to be with Jesus on Monday April 19, 2010 at Texas County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 26, 1925 at Tone Hogan Ford near Houston, MO. Her Mother died when she was 11 years old. She and her Dad traveled to Meeker, CO to the Rio Blanco Dude Ranch to live with her sister Cleo and husband Harry Jordan who operated the ranch. This is where her enjoyment of riding horses and rodeos began. She attended schools in Houston and Cabool, MO and Meeker, CO. On November 16, 1942 she was united in marriage to Norman West at Ava, MO. To this union 3 daughters were born: Marcia Coleen, Norma Jean, and Trena Elaine often referred to as ?our girls?. She helped Norman operate their canned milk routes as well as holding other jobs including the dietary department at Texas County Memorial Hospital. She accepted Jesus as her Savior after she was a mother of 3 while attending Cabool First Baptist Church. She raised their girls in church giving them a firm foundation for their spiritual growth. Her membership is with Simmons Baptist Church. She was a hard worker and caregiver to many and enjoyed picking out Missouri Black Walnuts and sharing them. She also enjoyed scrapbooking. She enjoyed her loyal friends, Helen and Mozelle. They played many card games, dominoes, singings and dances, creating memorable memories. Her family and friends raved over her homemade chocolate and coconut cream pies and her fried chicken. The Great Grands begged for G.G.?s blackberry jelly. She spent many hours writing letters and cards as she always looked forward to the mail. It was a highlight of her day when there were letters. She was a daughter, sister, wife, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1983, sisters Cleo Jordan, Mildred Flowers Coats, and Von Card, granddaughter-in-law Teresa Clifton and life long friend Mary Ellen Salisbury. Surviving are Marcia and Jon Clifton of Houston, MO, Norma Jean West, Cabool, MO and Trena and Wayne Wright, Greenfield, MO; Grandchildren: Jonathan and Ashlee Clifton, Joshua Clifton, Katrena Wright, Katrisha and Luther Ritchie; Great Grands: Mariah, Connor and Kaelan Clifton, Kelsey and Alan Ritchie, along with other relatives and friends. Family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Houston Senior Center. evansfh.com
