Eva Blankenship Walcott age 95 Daughter of George Richard and Laura (Steele) Blankenship was born August 7th, 1915 in Solo, Missouri. She passed away April 6, 2011 at Houston House in Houston, Missouri.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orville (Jack) Walcott, and her infant daughter, Emma Leah, six brothers and two sisters.

She was an alumnus of Houston High School graduating in 1932. She also attended college in Springfield, Missouri and taught elementary school for one year after which she got married.

Eva married Orville M. Walcott the 5th of April 1939. To this union was born one infant daughter, Emma Leah, on September 21st, 1945, she passed away on October 11th, 1945.

Eva was a member of the First Baptist Church of Solo, Missouri where she was baptized the 21st of December 1930. Eva’s membership was moved to Sunnyside, Washing ton in the late 1950’s when Brown Shoe Factory, where she was employed, shut down and they moved to Washington State.

Upon moving back to Houston, Missouri in 1983 her membership was moved back to Houston, Missouri where she attended services until she moved to the Houston House. Her membership is still there.

Eva loved working outside with flowers. She also loved crocheting afghans and doilies for family and friends. Visiting with family and friends over good home cooked meals was also one of Eva's favorite pastimes. A generous and compassionate friend, Eva was always there to help family and friends whenever possible.

Eva was a beloved and wonderful Aunt to her nieces and nephews; they were all a part of her family, especially her nieces Jeanette and Genevieve, whom she "adopted" as her own daughters and raised with her sister Ollie Blankenship Beard. Eva was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We are sure she is enjoying the presence of her family and friends and the Savior whom she looked forward to meeting.
