J.B. Tyler, 92, of Cordova, Tenn., formerly of Steele, died Thursday, September 13, 2012 in Bartlett, Tenn., at the Rainbow Rehabilitation and Care Center after a brief illness.
Born August 21, 1920 in Steele, he is the son of the late J.J. and Beulah Keelison Tyler.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Willie, and a sister, Mildred Bea Garner.
J.B. was an independent trucker until his retirement when he began to enjoy his hobby of restoring antique cars and attending car shows.
Mr. Tyler leaves his wife of almost 72 years, Virginia (Doodle) Jones Tyler, of Cordova; two sons: Jeffrey (Carolyn) and Lanny (Millie), all of Cordova; four granddaughters: Joy, Dena, Lana and Sandy; and 11 great-grandchildren: Adam, Rachel, Noah, Tyler, Lauren, Olivia, Zak, Zoey, Gerik, Destyn and Gavin.
Graveside services for Mr. Tyler were held on Saturday, September 15 at the Mount Zion Cemetery with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.
Pallbearers were Kevin Barker, Bo Wood, Tad Nowlin, Gerik Nowlin, Chuck Funderburk, Tyler Barker and Charles Funderburk.
