Fern Alene Garlett Glenn, 87, daughter of Charles C. and Iva B. Foster Garlett, was born April 29, 1919, near Cabool. She died Dec 12, 2006, at the Kabul Nursing Home in Cabool.
She married Robert Lee Glenn Oct 4, 1941 at Lebanon. They had two children.
Mrs. Glenn graduated from Cabool High School and Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. She was a school teacher at Cabool and the surrounding area for 38 years. She attended St. Louis University for graduate work and taught during the summer at State Training Schools at Springfield and St. Louis
She was a member of the Elk Creek, where she taught a class for many years.
She loved to garden, raise flowers, fish, read and help her husband on the farm after her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Evelyn Maness.
Surviving are her children, Betty Lee Cooper of Solo and Charlie Levi Glenn of Hennessey, OK; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were 15 Dec 2006 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with Junior Hutsell officiating. Burial in the Steely Chapel Cemetery.
