Funeral services were held at the Wardell Baptist Church Monday afternoon for Charley Duncan, 67, who died at his home in that city on July 18. The Rev. Charles Hunt conducted the service and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home service.
Mr. Duncan was born March 19, 1885 in Alabama.
On September 14, 1913, he was married to Miss Lena Briggs, who survives him. Also surviving are four sons, Cecil, Howard, Deward and Dayton Duncan; four daughters, Mrs. Tindle Lee Jr., Mrs. Claud Kelley, Mrs. Oscar Chronister and Mrs. Houston Powell; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Clark and Mrs. Maudie Dalton; two brothers Galous and Claud Duncan; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
