Services were held November 28, 1960 at Holland Methodist Church for Joe Lamarr Coleman, prominent resident of Holland. Mr. Coleman died November 26, 1960 at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis after a short illness. He was 36 years of age.

Mr. Coleman was well known in the area, being born and living there all his life. He was a farmer and was associated with Holland Liquid Fertilizer Co.

A World War II veteran, he was active in community activities. He was particularly interested in programs for the youth of the area and served for several years as fund-raising chairman of Boy Scouts Fund Raising Campaign. In addition, he took an active part in summertime baseball programs for youngsters and at the time of his death was president of the Holland School Board.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Joe Coleman, a son, Gary Lamarr Coleman; one daughter, Carolyn Jean Coleman; his mother, Mrs. Fern Coleman, all of Holland; and a brother, P. A. Coleman of Centralia, Mo.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Pallbearers were Lewis Hester, Kenneth Berry, Donald long, Pinnell Capehart, Glenn Stroud, and Joe Byron Holly.
