Funeral service for Robert V. Weaver, Sr., was held at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele on Thursday, August 23. The Rev. Maynard Weaver conducted the service.
Mr. Weaver, a former Steele resident, lived in Campbell, Mo., at the time of his death. He was born January 26, 1923, at Parkin, Ark. and died August 20 in Malden. Mo.
He was an employee of Gossard in Malden.
He is the son of the late Doc M. Weaver and Minnie Marrow Weaver and was united in marriage to Lavashtie Lavell in Blytheville, Ark., on June 13, 1942.
He leaves his wife, Lavashtie Weaver of the home; two sons, Harold M. Weaver of Iowa Park, Tex., and Robert V. Weaver, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Tex.; two daughters, Roberta Jean Weaver of Picavune, Miss. and Mrs. Minnie Elizabeth McCraney of Carriere, Miss.; two brothers, Rev. Maynard Weaver of Augusta, Ga. and Doc M. Weaver, Jr., of Houston, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Cathie Ellis of Gilbert, Ariz., Mrs. Clara Strothers of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Katherine Doherty of Steele, and Mrs. Virginia Adkinson of Monroe, La.; 10 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Active pall bearers were Buck Hollins, Jerry Hollins, A.L. Allison, Donald Hughes, Oscar Whittington and I.M. Ridge.
Honorary pall bearers were ..., Jerry M Weaver, Lynfred A. Cecil and Jim D. Cecil.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
