Lucille Mae Christeson, of Cabool, Missouri was welcomed into Heaven on August 10, 2018. She passed peacefully in her sleep at the Kabul Nursing Home. Her family and friends had just celebrated her 87th birthday a week before, and she had been so full of life and joy. Those warm memories will be treasured by all.
Born on August 1, 1931, to Jesse and Nancy Goodman of Tyrone, Lucille was the youngest of eight children. All of her siblings, Goldie Hurley, Sylvia Herndon, Paul Goodman, Doris Goforth, Dorothy Glenn, Ray Goodman, and Elmer Goodman preceded her in death.
On July 29, 1947, Lucille married Hubert Christeson and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage before his death in 2008. They had six children, Larry Joe (wife Connie), Diana Thornhill (husband Bobby), Danny, Bonnie Schurman (husband Randy), Eddie Lynn (wife Pam), and Debbie Anderson (husband Mike). She was preceded in death by her sons Larry Joe, Danny, and son-in-law Bobby.
Lucille lived in the Cabool area her whole life. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Cabool and Rawlings in Willow springs.
Lucille accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized early in her life. Together Lucille and Hubert remained actively involved in church activities at Tyrone Assembly of God, Calvary Temple in Mountain Grove, and Cabool Victory Worship Center until their health prevented them from attending.
Lucille loved having company drop in to visit. And rarely did they leave without enjoying a meal together. Her house was almost always filled with extra guests, children's friends, family from out of town, and laughter. Lucille also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and visiting/ministering to church family who were ill.
After retirement Lucille and Hubert enjoyed nothing more than traveling in their RV. And they went all over the country. But their favorite place was Colorado, enjoying time with some dear friends there, surrounded by the beautiful mountains.
Lucille was blessed with 16 grandchildren, Darrel (Carrie) Christeson, C.J. (Tyla) Christeson, Ginger (Brett) Scott, Kevin (Christy) Thornhill, Kimi (Eddie) Welch, Tracy Christeson, Daren (Amy) Christeson, Derek (Anissa) Christeson, Devin Christeson, Sherri Spencer, Cassie (Danny) Ludwig, Nikki Havens, Eddie Joe Christeson, Jesse Christeson, Shane Anderson, and Shaun (Kadie) Anderson. Lucille also welcomed 17 great-grandchildren, Nathan (Natalie) and Spencer Christeson, Damian Chapa, Tavish Lawson, Nicholas and Sabrina Thornhill, Megan, Haili, and Emie Welch, Morgan, Hunter, and Isaac Christeson, Karissa Christeson, Shealyn Johnson, Halli Ludwig, Olivia Havens, and Trigger Anderson. She also had many close nieces and nephews. [egcfuneralhome.com]
