Son of John & Thelma (Akins) Helterbrand
Marjorie Althea Helterbrand, 86, passed away April 30, 2010 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born in Quay, Oklahoma, on December 23, 1923 to George and Gladys (Henry) Potter.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Helterbrand in December 1941. To this union five children were born.
Marjorie lived most of her life in the Cabool, Missouri, area, moving to Battlefield, Missouri, with her husband in 2000. She made her profession of faith and was a longtime member of Cabool First Baptist Church and enjoyed studying the Bible. She was a bookkeeper and worked at the MFA Exchange stores in Cabool and Mtn. Grove, Missouri, prior to her retirement.
Marjorie was a cheerful and independent person whose life revolved around family, and she will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Joe Helter brand and John Helterbrand; four sisters, Mary Lavery, Dorothy Sandberg, Elaine Puckett and Florence Pugh; and one brother, David Potter.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Linda Rauk and husband Richard, and Sara Beth Harvey and husband Stuart; her son, James Helterbrand and wife Sylvia; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2010. at Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Marti officiating. Interment was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cabool Cemetery.
