On a cold wintry day in January Joyce Elaine Parker was born. She was the fifth child of seven born to Glen and Dorothy (Woodmansee) Parker. She was born at home in Cabool, MO on January 29, 1957. Joyce passed away suddenly in her home on June 27, 2013 at the age of 56. She had just returned home from the hospital after a bout with pneumonia. She had been fighting leukemia, heart trouble and knee and leg problems for several years. She loved life and was extremely active until health problems prohibited her from doing many things.
Joyce grew up in Cabool and attended Cabool Schools graduating with the Class of 1975. She was united in marriage to Larry McCall on November 24, 1977. They bought a house on U highway and through the years built additions and enlarged their house. Joyce and Larry worked hard on the house together; she was always eager to make her house a home and kept it neat as a pin. She was a devoted wife and a constant companion to her husband. To this union of 35 years; two children were born, Christy and Michael.
Joyce and Larry loved camping and went often, since his retirement they had purchased a camper and were anticipating great times on the lake. Her life was her family, grandchildren were an ever source of love and she doted on them. Her son-in-law, Alan Primanzon and daughter-in-law, Katie Ellison McCall were very special to her and much loved by her.
Joyce had worked at Brown Shoe, Wood Pro and Carousel Unlimited. She had a great work ethic and taught her children to work hard. She loved to do crafts, make flower arrangements and bowl when she was able. She was a very sensitive person with many talents. Joyce’s friends will remember her as having a sweet smile on her face.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jackie Parker. She is survived by her loving husband, Larry McCall of the home; her daughter, Christy and husband, Alan Primanzon of Cabool, MO; her son, Michael and wife, Katie (Ellison) McCall of Cabool, MO; five grandchildren, Jordan and Logan Primanzon, Briley, Braxton and Bristol McCall; four sisters, Gwendolyn “Sissy” and husband, John Foster of Solo, MO, Louise and husband, Jerry Rader of Cabool, MO, Rebecca and husband, Webb Friend of Mtn. Grove, MO and Kathy Sloan of Cabool, MO; her brother, Kenneth Parker and wife, Gwennie of Rolla, MO; a sister-in-law, Patty Parker, wife of deceased brother, Jackie of Cabool, MO. Joyce was also blessed with many nieces and nephews and loved each and every one of them. She will be greatly missed, leaving a void among her family and many friends.
