She departed this life on Sunday, March 20, 2011 with her family at her side. Dorothy had been a resident of the Autumn Oaks Nursing Home in Mtn. Grove, Missouri after suffering a stroke in October 2010.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Glen Parker on June 19, 1941 in Cabool, Missouri. Seven children were born to this union. Glen and Dorothy lived a short while in Rolla, MO; moving then to Ann, Missouri and finally making Cabool their home.
Dorothy was an immersed believer in Jesus Christ and was a member of the Cabool United Methodist Church.

She worked at Wood Pro Cabinetry, Byron’s market making sandwiches, in the kitchen at the Wright County Livestock Auction, at McDonald’s and Wal-Mart in Mtn. Grove. Making new friends along the way.
