Helen Lucille Cox quietly passed away early Friday evening, November 14th, 2008 while at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains from natural causes. Born July 29, 1925 to Otho Ray and Iva May Cox Lovan in Willow Springs, she was 83 years old.
Helen married Charles M. "Don" Cox in Salem, Arkansas. To this union five children were born. She spent her entire life in Willow Springs with the exception of two years when she lived in Oregon due to her husband Don's employment. She was primarily a homemaker where she took great pride in raising her children and keeping her home a loving and warm environment for her family and friends. It was said that she never met a stranger. Once she met you she considered you family and loved you unconditionally. She had such a desire to make others happy that she took over 197 children in her home through foster care in which she adopted six. She had many enjoyments in her life such as quilting, camping, traveling, and cooking. However, what gave her the greatest joy was being surrounded by her family.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Don on March 6, 1984; her son Donald R. Cox; her daughter Brenda L. Cox; and by two sisters and one brother.
