Funeral services for Mary Virginia West, 84, Willow Springs, Mo., will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Willow Springs, Missouri with the Reverend Joel Hines officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. She was born the daughter of the late Ralph Bryan and Ella Frances "Dixie" Byrd Bryan, on Nov. 17, 1924, in Hutton Valley, Mo., and died Oct. 11, 2009, in Willow Springs, Mo. She was united in marriage May 26, 1944, in Hutton Valley, Mo., to Charles Russell West, who preceded her in death April 2, 2009. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Whitaker and husband Jack of Willow Springs, Mo., Alice Marie Brook and husband Lee of Willow Springs; one son, E.C. West and wife Vicki of Cabool, Mo.; one sister, Katherne Cummings of Willow Springs; one brother, Loye Bryan and wife Betty of Willow Springs; nine grandchildren, Casey Whitaker, Brenda Davi, Amy Myers, Kelly Worley, Jason Brook, Brandy Scott, Jeremy West, Cody West, and Brittany West; 18 grandchildren; and a special niece, Jeanne Ramsey of Pomona, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Russell West; her parents Ralph Bryan and Ella Frances "Dixie" Byrd Bryan; and one sister, Viola Colbert. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Willow Springs, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, Willow Springs, Mo. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.


Funeral Services for Charles Russell West, 84, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be Saturday, April 4, 2009, 1:00 pm, at the First Baptist Church, Willow Springs, with Reverend Joel Hinds officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. He was born the son of the late Ernest C. West and Olive Thompson West, on July 23, 1924 in St. Joseph, Missouri and died April 2, 2009 in Willow Springs, Missouri. He was united in marriage May 26, 1944 in Hutton Valley, Missouri to Mary Bryan. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bryan West, of the home, Willow Springs; three children, Sandra Whitaker, husband, Jack, Willow Springs, Alice Brook, husband, Lee, Willow Springs, and E.C. West, wife, Vicki, Cabool, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Casey Whitaker, Brenda Davi, Amy Myers, Kelly Worley, Jason Brook, Brandy Scott, Jeremy West, Cody West, and Brittany West; fifteen great grandchildren, and a special niece, Kay Dickison, husband, Charles, Willow Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs, Missouri, and was a superintendent in the water department for the city of Willow Springs for over thirty years. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs, Missouri, and left at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. Family visitation will be 6:30-7:30 p.m, Friday, April 3 at the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs. Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
