Mr. Danny Holloway passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, while at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. Born on Nov. 24, 1945, in West Plains to Ray and Frances (Stringer) Holloway, he was 67 years old. Danny grew up in Willow Springs, where he graduated from high school. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. On Dec. 11, 1970, he married Martha L. Krueger in Lees Summit. The couple later returned to Willow Springs where Danny started the Rural Disposal Company in 1977. He and his wife, Martha, ran the company successfully until they sold the business in 2004 and retired. Danny had many hobbies and interests such as sailing and boating, riding his Harley, traveling, horses, and roping; however, his greatest joy came from being with his family. Danny was described as a husband and father that always put family first. He was a past president and secretary of the Willow Springs Lions Club, and a member of the Ozarks Road Hogs Trike Club. Danny will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Frances Holloway. Danny is survived by his wife, Martha Holloway of Willow Springs; his two sons, Stephen Holloway and his wife Lisa of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; and Shawn Holloway and his wife Jewel of Willow Springs. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Whitney Darnell of Greenwood, Mo.; Garrett Engh of Willow Springs; Mackenzie Holloway of Pleasant Hill; Travis Engh of Willow Springs; Tyler Holloway of Pleasant Hill; and his brothers Gary Holloway and his wife Kay of Hollister; and Kenneth Holloway and his special friend Kayla Beatty of Hollister. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends further survive. The funeral service was held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the First General Baptist Church in Willow Springs. Burial with military honors followed the service at the Willow Springs City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home. [ozarkareanetwork.com/obits, Apr 1, 2013]
