Dora Margaret Frame Lay, 92, daughter of William Nelson Frame and Melva Belle Zentz Frame, was born Aug. 12, 1912, at Bayard, Kan. She died April 9, 2005, at her home at Houston.
Her family moved to Missouri when she was eight months old. She had polio at age 3 and attended school in the Grandview community.
She married Perry Oscar Lay April 14, 1934. They had eight children.
Mrs. Lay was a homemaker and good cook. She loved to read her Bible and was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1982; daughter, Priscilla Jones; a stepson, Leonard Lay; stepdaughter, Norene Lay; three brothers, Monty, Keith and Howard Frame; one sister, Dortha Hall; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.
Surviving are seven children, Franklin and Doyle Lay of Houston, Paul Lay of Tipton, Priscilla Jones of Joplin, Phyllis Decker, Barbara Stevenson and Permelia Neal of Licking and Louise Aldridge of Elk Creek; two stepchildren, Nadine Steeb of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Grace Williams of Marion, Ill.; one sister, Anna Loeding of Cabool; one brother, Paul Frame of Houston; 58 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were April 13 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kendall Ford officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone Cemetery.
