Pearl Scheets Atchley, 91, daughter of Elijah and Julia Martin, was born June 16, 1895, at Tyrone and died Monday, March 30, at South Barry County Hospital, Cassville. She was married to Frank Lee Scheets and to this union six children were born. Mr. Scheets and four of the children preceded her in death. She later married the Rev. Frank Atchley, who survives; also a son, Frank E. Scheets, Cabool; a daughter, Kathleen Wilson, of Flat, Mo.; five stepsons, the Rev. C. C. Atchley, Shawnee, Okla., Joe Atchley, Kansas City, Kan., Ferrell Atchley, Sand Springs, Okla., Paul Atchley, Oklahoma City, Okla. and the Rev. John Atchley, Cassville; five stepdaughters, the Rev. Naomi Edmonson, Lead Hill, Ark., Osee Loftin and Ruby Platter, both of Kansas City, Kan., Lou Ab'ce Holderby, Crane, and Lola O'Neal, Lead Hill. She was an active minister in the Pentecostal Holiness Church and in later years with the Church of God, Apostolic Faith. She was a member of Spiritual Streams Church in Cassville. Services were conducted April 1 at the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Licking with the Rev. Curtis Yarnell officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone Cemetery. [From the Houston Herald]
