Laura Annice Reavis, daughter of the late James Monroe and Nancy Elizabeth Rosier Wood, was born July 18, 1895 at Salem, Arkansas and departed this life June 27, 1982 at West Plains, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 9 days.
She was united in marriage August 24, 1924 at Salem, Arkansas to Leonard H. Reavis, who preceded her in death March 10, 1971.
She is survived by two sons, Leonard W. Reavis, West Plains, Missouri and Gene Reavis, Los Alamos, New Mexico; three sisters, Bertha Wood, Salem, Arkansas, Granville Sherman, Viola, Arkansas and Pearl Smith, Thayer, Missouri; two brothers, James C. Wood, Sturkie, Arkansas and Rufus Wood, Byron, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren, Kent Reavis and Gary Reavis, West Plains, Missouri, Ann Reavis, Washington, D.C., Mark Reavis, Pullman, Washington, Ellen Reavis and Janet Reavis, Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Oral A.Wood and Clyde Wood.
She was a charter member of the Lanton Baptist Church. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church and was active in church and was a Sunday School Teacher in early years. She was an elementary school teacher in the schools of Fulton County in early womanhood.

Leoanrd Houston Reavis, son of the late J.N. and Lucy Ann Anderson Reavis, was born April 7, 1893 in Fulton County, Arkansas, and departed this life March 10, 1971 in the West Vue Nursing Home, West Plains, Missouri, at the age of 77 years, eleven months and three days.
He was united in marriage August 24, 1924 at Salem, Arkansas to Laura Annice Wood. To this union two children were born.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Annice Reavis West Plains, Missouri; and James Gene Reavis of Los Alamos, New Mexico; two brothers, Versa O. Reavis,Flint, Michigan and Gratis O. Reavis, Quillen, Missouri; and six granchildren. His parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He was a member and deacon of the New Hope Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Lanton Missionary Baptist Church. He served in many farm organizations. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He spent his life in Howell County as a farmer and community leader.
