Almira May White, 89, of West Plains died Dec. 18, 2003, in West Vue Nursing Center in West Plains. She was born Sept. 30, 1914, near Brandsville to William Alonzo and Lydia Jane (Ford) Carpenter.
On March 27, 1935, she married Clark Lyle White in Salem, AR, and he preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of West Plains High School.
She was director of the West Plains Senior Center and had worked with the Howell County Clerk's Office and the West Plains Savings and Loan.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 193 in West Plains.
Survivors include three children, Neal White of Springfield, VA; Wayne White of Pomona, MO; and Marilyn Vinson of Columbia, MO; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services are Dec. 21, at Rose Chapel in Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, with the Rev. J. Michael Heston officiating. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. [Columbia Daily Tribune, Dec 20, 2003]
