Mary Lou Sigman was born July 25, 1880 the eldest of 14 children born to George E. and Melvina Sigman. She died Feb. 15, 1975 at age 94 years, six months and two days.
On December 1, 1901 she was united in marriage to John D. Potts and to this union three children was born. A son, Homer, died in 1961.
Her entire life was spent in Texas County and for 20 years she and Mr. Potts were in the mercantile business in Simmons. She was converted at an early age and joined the Simmons Baptist Church. Later after moving to Cabool her membership was moved to Manes Memorial Baptist Church.
Mr. Potts died in 1966. A wonderful Christian lady she was blessed with a long and rewarding life.
Survivors are a son Earl Potts, a daughter, Ethel Orr, West Plains; two brothers, Fred Sigman, Houston, and Homer Sigman of Santa Paula, Calif.; three sisters, Mamie Harman, Apple Valley, Calif., Stella Rust, Cabool and Mabel Stouse of Houston, five grandchilden; 12 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives and many friends will miss her.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 19, in Manes Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Hill and Rev. Arch Bolerjack officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery under direction of Elliott-Gentry.

John DeWolf Potts was born on February 8, 1877, the son of George and Sarah Eidson Potts in Hawkins, Tennessee. departing this life on January 28, 1966 in the Texas County Memorial Hospital at age of 88 years, 11 months and 20 day.
On December 1, 1901 he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Sigman and to this happy union three children were born, one son, Homer, preceded him in death in 1961.
For the first 20 years ot their married life he was associated in the General Merchandise business with his father at Simmons. The rest of his life was spent on a farm in Simmons later retiring and moving to Cabool eight years ago.
Early in manhood he was converted and united with the Methodist Church, later transfering his membership to the First Baptist Church of Cabool, which he was proud of, partiularly enjoying the fellowhip of his Sunday School Class.
He was a friendly and likeable person, willing at any time to help others in any way needed. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to mourn his passing are; his faithfaul companion of 64 years, Mary Lou, one son, Earl of Cabool, one daughter, Mrs. Ethel Orr, Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Arch Bolerjack, Rev. C.D. O'Neill and Rev. Payton Smyer officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery under direction of Elliott-Gentry.
