Graveside services for Fred Ray "Curley" Long, 85, West Plains, were Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Long died at 10:25 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at his home. He was born May 15, 1925, at Cureall, Mo., to Fred Ray and Edith Briggs Long. On July 3, 1949, Mr.Long was married at West Plains, Mo., to Colleen Moore. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Before his retirement, Mr. Long was employed as a lineman-serviceman with the city of West Plains Electrical Department for 42 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and his life long friends. Mr. Long attended the Church Of The Nazarene, West Plains. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Long of the family home; three children, Fred Long Jr., wife, Regina, Terrie Pearsall and Chuck Long, all of West Plains; four grandchildren, Jason Long, Jennifer Burke, husband, Josh, Jeff Kimbrough, wife, Allison and Andy Pearsall; four great-grandchildren, Kortnee Long, Gabriel Burke; Adleigh Burke and Emma Kay Kimbrough; and several nieces and nephews. His parents; two brothers, Joe Long and Bobby Long; and one sister, Emily Rieck, precede him in death.
