Tommy Steve Staggs, born September 13, 1954, died September 14, 1973, near Senath.
He leaves his mother, Mrs. Melba Jean Staggs of Rives; one sister, Melba Sue Crouch of Star Route, Gobler; and one brother, Lonnie Staggs.
Services were conducted September 17 1973, at 2:00 p.m. at the Rives Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. T.W. Gamble officiating.
Pallbearers were Greg Gillette, Steve Noble, J.E. Crews, Jerry Moore, Lannie Young, and Jerry Noble.
Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery with German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.


Two Killed In Motorcycle Crash
A 13-year old Kennett youth and a 19-year old Hornersville boy were killed Friday night, September 14, when the motorcycle they were riding on Highway 25 near Senath was struck head-on by a car.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reported Dennis John Pippen, 13, and Tommy Steven Staggs, 19, Hornersville, were dead on arrival at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital following the 9:40 p.m. crash on Highway 25 two miles north of Senath.
The patrol said the accident occurred when Larry Branum, 17, Hornersville, driving a 1970 Pontiac north on Highway 25, apparently crossed the centerline and struck the 1970 motorcycle the boy were riding head-on.
Branum suffered lacerations of the forehead and and was taken to the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital.
