Mrs. Minnie Alice (Messersmith) Klindt, 94, Tuscumbia, a lifelong resident of Miller County, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 1981, at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City.

She was born Nov. 9, 1886, at Tuscumbia to Arthur and Nancy Hawken Small. In 1905 she was married to Charles M. Messersmith, who died in 1939. In 1946 she was married to Victor Nixdorf, who died in 1949. She was married in 1954 to Fred E. Klindt, who also preceded her in death in 1969.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Stillwell, Eldon, Mrs. Mildred Gray, Decatur, Ga., and Mrs. Betty Smith, Grand Junction, Colo.; a son John Messersmith, Woodlawn, Va.; five step-sons, Milburn Klindt, Jefferson City, Kenneth Klindt, Paul Nixdorf, Independence, Homer Nixdorf, state of Florida, and Ottis Nixdorf, Granite City, Ill.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Edith Livingston, Duluth, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Olive Phillips, Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Irene Mobley, Iberia; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Klindt was a member of the Royal Neighbors Club and for many years was a representative for Hanley and Sons Monument Co. of California, Mo. She also was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church.
