Graveside services for Donald Lee McCracken, 74, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. McCracken died at 7:15 a.m., Thursday, May 1, 2014, at his home.
He was born February 16, 1940, at Flippin, Arkansas, to Guy McCracken and Elma Crownover McCracken. Mr. McCracken graduated from Flippin High School with the Class of 1958. On April 27, 1960, he married Gussie Stoner. Donald and Gussie recently celebrated fifty-four years of marriage. Mr. McCracken was a lifelong farmer and owned a successful fishing service in Arkansas. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Gussie McCracken, of the family home; two children, Donna Redburn, husband, Curtis, Caulfield, Missouri and Monty McCracken, special friend, Hedi, and her children, Summer and Jaden; five grandchildren, Amanda Osborn, husband, Jason, Pomona, Missouri, Ashley Young, husband, Shane, West Plains, Missouri, Angela Redburn, special friend, Tommy, West Plains, Missouri, Carter McCracken, West Plains, Missouri and Jerad Stokes, West Plains, Missouri; two step-grandchildren, Austin and Morgan Smith; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Osborn, Lindsey Osborn and Gracie Young; one sister, Judy Stewart, husband, Charles, West Plains, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Burness Stoner, Flippin, Arkansas; one sister-in-law, Mary Treat, Flippin, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews, including niece, Charlene McKee, husband, Craig, West Plains, Missouri; and a host of special friends and neighbors, who knew him as Uncle Donnie.
His parents, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, precede him in death.
Mr. McCracken will lie in state from 2:00 p.m., Saturday, until Noon Sunday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Riverways Hospice, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
