Leota Sanders, 95, of Sarcoxie, Mo. left this life on April 5, 2014 and walked into her eternal Glory to be with God forevermore. Her daughter Sheila Sanders was by her side as left for her heavenly home.
She had a strong relationship with God and Jesus.
She entered this life on March 10, 1919 in Willow Springs, Mo. the only child born to the union of the late Marshall Everet and Alma Minnie (Ottinger) Shriver.
She grew up in Willow Springs and was a graduate of Willow Springs High School.
In 1940 she was wed to Denver Franklin Sanders at the Christian parsonage at West Plains, Mo. by Reverend Roy Fields. In 1952 the family moved to Carthage, Mo.
Leota was a member of the order of Eastern Star of Willow Springs, Mo. and the Rebekah Lodge of Carthage, Mo. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Sanders is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son; Herbert D. Sanders and one daughter; Carolyn K. Sanders.
She is survived by one son; Dale Sanders of Sarcoxie, Mo. and one daughter; Sheila Sanders also of Sarcoxie, Mo., eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sanders are 7 p.m. Thursday evening, April 10, 2014 at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Bellis and Chaplain Craig Buck officiating.
Interment will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Willow Springs City Cemetery, Willow Springs, Mo.
Those honoring her life as pallbearers will be Preston Allen Lacy, Stone Butner Sanders, Denver Burton Sanders, Blake Steelman Sanders, Brian Patrick Sanders and Marshall Dwain Sanders. Honorary pallbearer will be Mike Kevin Sanders.
