Funeral services for Steven Bryan Roy, 59, Alton, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Roy died at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014, at his home.
He was born August 7, 1954, at Memphis, Tennessee, to Bryan Roy, Jr. and Mary Sue Anderson Roy. He was married to Jan Shulemate, who preceded him in death in 2003. Mr. Roy worked as a foreman in the construction industry. He was a member of the Missouri Sheriff’s Association and the National Rifle Association and was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Roy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by one sister, Cynthia Dooty, West Plains, Missouri; two nieces, Angela Roy, fiancé, Ricardo Leon and Melissa Church, fiancé, Roy Dykes, all of West Plains, Missouri; and five great-nieces and great-nephews, Maria Wilson, Brenden Delancey, Zander Vowell, Andrew Vowell and Ryder Dykes.
His parents, wife and one brother-in-law, Richard Dooty, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
