Elizabeth Sperlock was born in Cole County near Russellville in 1845 and was married to J. E. Cotten July 31, 1887. She was converted early in life and united with the Flatwoods Baptist Church shortly after her marriage. In this church she held her membership to the day of her death and was a consistent faithful Christian. She departed this life April 9, 1920.
Sister Cotten expressed a bright hope for the home of the soul in the city whose builder and maker is God.
Funeral services were conducted in Kemp Vaughan Cemetery April 10, 1920, where the remains were laid to rest until the Resurrection.
Mrs. Cotten will be remembered as one who suffered much and was kind. She was a good woman. May God comfort the bereaved husband and sorrowing relatives. Only one sister survives her.
