Died at the family residence in this city, April 19th , 1906 W.T. Oxley, an old and respected citizen.
William T. Oxley was born in Franklin county, Virginia, July 10th, 1840 and was married August 6th, 1868 to Mary L. Naff who still survives him. To this union were born two sons, J.W. Oxley who now resides at Stockton, Missouri, and W.A. Oxley, now deceased.
The deceased came to Missouri in the fall of 1860 and had been a resident of this city for over twenty years. He was a quiet and unobtrusive citizen and his friends were numbered by the hundreds. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of this city.
The funeral services were conducted from the family residence by the I.O.O.F. Rev. Dove delivered a short but impressive address at the home in the presence of a large congregation of sympathizing friends and relatives. The remains were laid to rest in the Cabool Cemetery there to await the resurrection. [courtesy Carol Boykin]
